In 1996 he left home to study photography at Pune's Fergusson College. Since then, the world has transformed into just an array of faces, objects, moods and silences for him to capture on his lens. Ritam sometimes wonders, whether life itself has now become a procession of images for him. For over a decade now, all that he has been doing is to turn negatives into positives.
He is often invited to be on the jury at national and international competitions, he has also been in the news for his theme-based calendars and exhibitions across the globe and he has been awarded for cinematography in feature films at several international film festivals. Ritam has helped amateurs, professionals and photo-enthusiasts find their own photographic groove through various conferences and seminars.
